HLG attorney Alan Duke has been selected to participate on the inaugural UAB School of Engineering Young Alumni Board. The board is made up of engineering graduates who represent a diverse cross section of departments within the School of Engineering. The board will help efforts to increase alumni participation, address the needs and perspectives of recent graduates, and generate more awareness of the school’s initiatives, both on campus and in the community.
The ultimate goal of the board is to support the School of Engineering by encouraging membership in the UAB National Alumni Society and Engineering Alumni Chapter. The board will actively plan and participate in alumni events & activities in order to build a strong network of young alumni who will serve as future leaders for the School of Engineering and remain engaged with the school. Participation on the board provides a forum for discussion of the school’s alumni activities and programs that engage a greater number of young alumni. In addition to engaging engineering graduates, the board will provide advice and counsel to the dean in matters related to young alumni and current students.
“I am honored to join the young alumni board and work with the other young alumni,” Alan said. “UAB is, in my opinion, the best engineering school in the state, and I look forward to sharing my experiences and contributing to the future direction and growth of the school.”
